Summary:
The 300B is made in Korea modeling STC 4300B.


STC (Standard Telephones & Cables ltd.) started as a British branch of Western Electric(WE) in the United States. Therefore, the manufactured vacuum tubes are almost the same or similar to those of WE. The 4300B vacuum tube is one of them.

To put it simply, the 4300B tube is a British version of Western Electric’s 300B (WE300B).

Unlike Western Electric's use of ribbon filaments, STC used wire-type filaments and these changes resulted in removal of the filament center-tap. As a result, it has a different sound from WE300B, and it is well known that the sound is generally more transparent and delicate than WE300B.

In order to reproduce this, we use wire filament without center-tap in our 300B model.

However, for better sound quality, several improvements were applied without identical copying the previous model.

In particular, to reduce the distortion that inevitably occurs during amplification, we use our own Ladder-Type FrameGrid and Minimization of Filament End-Loss structure. By applying these improvements, clearer sound and wide frequency characteristics were achieved.
