The basic structure of the S300B came from the Ed vacuum tube manufactured by Siemens or Valvo.


The S300B tube is compatible with the Western Electric's 300B -WE300B- in electrical characteristics, but the vacuum tube design is different to that of the WE300B because of its unique characteristics.

The basic structure of the S300B came from the Ed vacuum tube manufactured by Siemens or Valvo. So the S300B tube’s overall trend is similar to Ed tubes and therefore it has a different and unique sound compared to the WE300B or STC4300B tube.

For the S300B, the maximum plate dissipation is 36 Watt.

The WE300B initially allowed a maximum plate dissipation of 36 watt, but this was later changed to 40 Watt. It is safer to use the WE300B at 32 Watt or less in terms of the tubes’ best lifetime.

The S300B allows for the maximum plate dissipation of 36 Watt, but if you want to use the tube for a long time, we recommend using it less than 32 Watt.
