Summary:
The Stradi RE604 tube is compatible with Telefunken's RE604.
Its filament is oxide-coated and the internal structure has been improved for a neutral and clearer sound.


The RE604 tube is developed by Telefunken for audio purposes.

Its electrical characteristics are similar to the US-made 45 vacuum tube.
Developed at the beginning of vacuum tubes' history, the RE604, like the 45 tubes, transconductance is not high, making the internal resistance 1.4 KΩ.

Telefunken initially manufactured RE604 by Azide Process, but changed to oxide-coated filament later.
So, the sound tendency of the early version (balloon tube) and the later version (ST tube) is very different.

The Stradi RE604 tube uses the same oxide-coated filament as RE604, a later manufactured version of Telefunken.
However, the cage structure is different from that of the Telefunken, and we make some improvements using the design of Ladder-Type FrameGrid, the End-Loss Minimization structure, and the use of Open Filament to produce clear sound with low distortion throughout the entire range.
