RS241

Summary:
The Stradi RS241 tube is compatible with Telefunken's RS241 and RS242 tubes.
With our RS241, you can fully focus on music without thinking of microphonics in DHT Phono Amp or DHT PreAmp.

The RS241 tube is a low-output transmitting tube developed by Telefunken.
It was mainly used in industrial fields such as telecommunication, but it is now regarded as a vacuum tube for audio as more and more people make amplifiers with RS241 tubes.

Telefunken's RS241 tube is characterized by a getter that is widely seated in a balloon-shaped bulb which is a very common feature when made with the Azide Process method.
Nowadays, it is difficult to use the Azide Process because safety and environment-related regulations are strengthened. So, The Stradi RS241 tube uses Oxide-coated Filament instead of Azide Process.

There is an RS242 model that has the same amplification factor (17) as RS241 and the RS242 tube is an oxide-coated filament version of RS241.
The Stradi RS241 tube is compatible with Telefunken's RS241 and RS242 tubes.

If the RS241 is used as a drive tube, the tube's amplification factor is important, but the amount of filament heat is more important when it comes to the sound quality.
If the amount of filament heat is insufficient, the bass sounds weak, and if the amount of filament heat is excessive, the sound is harsh.
After our long-term test, we concluded the RS241 tube is the most suitable to be used as a drive tube.

The Stradi RS241 tube is extremely suppressed in generating microphonic, which is the biggest problem when using a direct heating tube.
If you use the Stradi RS241 tube, you can fully focus on music without thinking of microphonics in DHT Phono Amp or DHT PreAmp, which was previously considered impossible to use.
